Magazine (Aug 1968) Page(s) 29. Includes photo(s). L. V. Lawrence, Australian-raised Roses. ‘Tony Peace’ is a sport of ‘Madame A. Meilland’ (‘Peace’) which was discovered by a member of the staff in the rose nursery of Mr Allen Brundrett. The color is a real buff-yellow with salmon pink and apricot tones. Growth is similar to that of the parent except that the foliage is a lighter shade of green. There have been many sports of ‘Madame A. Meilland’ in the world but my experience suggests that ‘Chicago Peace’ and ‘Tony Peace’ are the best two sports at present. A bunch of ‘Tony Peace’ was judged the best bunch of Australian raised roses at the last N.R.S.V. Autumn Rose Show.

Book (1966) Page(s) 150. Editor [L. V. Lawrence] The New Ones. ‘Tony Peace’. This sport from ‘Mme. A. Meilland’ discovered by an employee at Mr. A. Brundrett’s rose nursery, and bearing his name, is an excellent grower producing large blooms ranging in colour from buff yellow through salmon and apricot. The form in its first Autumn was promising, but Spring blooms lacked any semblance of conventional form, nevertheless it is a very beautiful garden variety.
