A variety of 'Highlight' type and colour which would have made news three years earlier was Norman's Doris Norman but, coming in when the market was satisfied, it has created less interest than it deserved.

Novelty Roses 1960. Doris Norman. (Hyb. Poly. Harkness & Son 1958) Double flowers of brilliant orange red. The blooms are neat in size and spacing, while the foliage is a dark green changing to a lighter shade. Vigorous growth and free flowering. One of the best new English introductions. 6/6 each.

Doris Norman (Norman, 1958): Brilliant orange-red, double flowers. The blooms are neat in size and spacing, while the foliage is a dark green changing to light green. Vigorous growth and free flowering. One of the best new English introductions.

Floribunda Type. Doris Norman (Norman, 1958). Large clusters of beautifully shaped smallish blooms in a warm shade of deep orange scarlet. Growth is good and foliage is very colourful. There is a slight tendency to mildew.

Doris Norman F. (Albert Norman; int. R. Harkness & Co. '58) 'Paul's Scarlet Climber' x 'Mary'). Double, Hybrid Tea-form, wide, brilliant light orange-scarlet flowers borne several together. Very free-blooming. Leaves purple when young, dull-green when old. Very bushy, hardy plant.
