Friedrich Schwarz (Kordes 1951) is a fragrant, shapely medium crimson of exhibition  standard, borne on extra long stems with good foliage. Early blooms showed some lack of colour, but this improved greatly with warmer weather. This should prove an acquisition.

p128.  Dr. A. S. Thomas.  New Roses
Friedrich Schwarz came to me with high recommendations. So far (and I would stress that point, especially under this year's conditions) it falls far short of at least a dozen reds already in commerce-and who wants more than a dozen of any one colour?  Beautiful plant and free blooming.
