'Duc de Constantine' rose Reviews & Comments

Bosse (1861) records this as a Hybrid Bourbon.
Probably intended to honor Grand Duke Konstantin Nikolayevich of Russia (September 21, 1827–January 25, 1892), second son of Czar Nicholas I.

In one of the many garden books on Monet's garden, one writer, possibly Vivian Russell, misreads a plant list Monet sent to a nurseryman, and she wonders what the iris "Duc de Constantine" looks like.

The bloom cycle of this rose is not correct. In my garden it is a summer bloomer with no sign of remontancy.
