I got this rose a couple of months ago......I was disappointed to see that the blooms turned out to be more bright purple than I had expected. Plus the blooms get burnt pretty easily here in zone7, even in mid spring. The blooms only last for 2-3 days. I put it in part shade and the plant started to loose its leaves! Maybe all these problems were caused by the transplant (I moved it into a bigger container soon after I bought it). Guess I just have to wait to see how it goes.

Mine are OK in the sun - zone 7 here too. The colour of the blooms in fact varies with the age of that particular bloom. If I understand rightly yours is in a container? It might do better planted in the ground, but I suppose you have your reasons for keeping it in a pot ...

Yes, the blooms are bright purple at the beginning, then as the flower opens the colour changes to a blue-grey-purple. Never really a true blue. It is a great colour however, and the blooms are fragrant too. The blooms individually only last a couple of days, but they are followed by others, non-stop.
