Origin:

Bred by Bob Matthews (New Zealand, before 1998).

Class:

Hybrid Tea.

Bloom:

Yellow. Mild fragrance. Double (17-25 petals), in small clusters bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

Habit:

Matte foliage.

Height: 3' to 5' (90 to 150cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 7b and warmer. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that. Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .

Gisborne 2000 is one of the new varieties being added to the RINZ Rose Display Trial at the Auckland Regional Botanic Gardens in 1999.
