Dedicated to Leonie Marie Osterrieth (née Mols) (February 9, 1843 Antwerpen - December 22, 1918 Antwerpen), third wife of Jacob Ernst Osterrieth (May 5, 1826 Frankfurt - November 24, 1893 Brasschaat, Antwerpen), merchant from a wide-spread protestant family from Frankfurt, Alsace, Switzerland. As a widow, she helped finance the first Belgian expedition to Antarctica by Adrien de Gerlache de Gomery (1897-1899).
