Some Novelties of Merit.
Marichu Zayas I much admire, and if I mistake not, it has a future. It possesses the grand imbricated form of Alfred K. Williams, but the colour is crushed strawberry, or somewhat approaching that of Farben Konigin.

La seconde figure fait voir un groupe de fleurs d‘une variété appartenant au genre hybride de thé et provenant des même rosiéristes, à laquelle ils ont donné le nom de Marichu Zayar.
C‘est une plante d'une excellente vigueur, fleurissent beaucoup jusqu'à l‘arrière-saison. Le bouton est allongé et porté par un pédoncule très ferme. Après son épanouissement, le coloris est tendre, fraise-écrasée avec un soupçon de rose très brillant. C‘est une rose que l‘on peut recommander pour les par
terres et la fleur coupée.
Avant d‘être mises au commerce, ces deux variétés [Marichu Zayar et Madame Pol Varin-Bernier] ont été étudiées avec le plus grand soin par leurs obtenbeurs qui n‘hésitent pas à les classer parmi les sortes de tout premier mérite.

Translation: The second figure shows a group of flowers of a variety belonging to the hybrid tea genre and provided by the same rose growers [as Madame Pol Varin-Bernier], to which they gave the name Marichu Zayar .
It is a plant of great vigor, floriferous until late autumn. The bud is elongated and supported by a very firm stalk. After it opens, the color is soft, crushed strawberry with a hint of very bright pink. This is a rose that one can recommend for growing outdoors and for cut flowers.
Before being introduced to commerce, these two varieties [Marichu Zayar and Madame Pol Varin-Bernier] have been studied with great care by their breeders who don't hesitate to rank them among the sorts of first merit.
