ROSA Provincialis variegata.
Variegated Province Rose.

SPECIFIC CHARACTER. Rose with seed-buds nearly round; peduncles, stem and footstalks hispid and prickly;
flowers striped or blotched; leaflets ovate, pointed, sawed, villose and glaucous beneath.

Of this elegant variety of the Province Rose we have seen several plants in bloom, all varying from each other; more or less marked, stronger or paler in colour according to the strength of the plant, or the favourable state of the weather during their inflorescence.
Our figure was delineated from plants in the Nursery of Mr. Lee in the autumn of 1826, although from its being the first time of its flowering it is probable it may eventually flower in the spring season.
