Book (Mar 1999) Page(s) 108. William Grant Gallica. Recently found in Brooks, Oregon, and named for its discoverer. Thought to have been hybridized by the priest and rose hybridizer Father George Schoener and introduced in 1915-1917. Its original name is unknown. Its foliage sufficiently resembles a Gallica to allow its placement among Gallica Hybrids. Pink, large boss of stamens, cupped, semi-double. Bloom is profuse on a large shrub that may also be grown as a climber.
