Bred by Reimer Kordes (1922-1997) (Germany, before 1950).
Introduced in Germany by W. Kordes' Söhne (Retail) in 1951 as 'Elmshorn'.
Introduced in United Kingdom by Henry Morse & Sons in 1951 as 'Elmshorn'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1952 as 'Elmshorn'.

Hybrid Musk, Lambertiana, Shrub.  

Rose-red.  Mild, musk fragrance.  20 petals.  Average diameter 1.5".  Small, double (17-25 petals), in large clusters, cupped, rosette bloom form.  Continuous (perpetual) bloom throughout the season.  

Glossy, light green, wrinkled (rugose) foliage.  

Height: 4' to 10' (120 to 305cm).  Width: up to 4' (up to 120cm).

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be trained as a climber.  Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant.  Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood..  Can be pruned to maintain a shorter habit.
