Bred by Alister Clark (1864-1949) (Australia, before 1922).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1922 as 'Golden Vision'.

Class:

Climber, Hybrid Gigantea, Large-Flowered Climber, Noisette.

Bloom:

Butter-yellow, ages to cream . Strong fragrance. Average diameter 2.75". Medium, semi-double (9-16 petals), reflexed bloom form. Once-blooming spring or summer.

Habit:

Climbing.

Growing:

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Very vigorous.

Patents:

Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).

Parentage:

Maréchal Niel (tea noisette, Pradel or Castel 1857) × Rosa gigantea Collett ex Crépin

Notes:

Proceeds from the sale of this rose were donated to the National Rose Society of Victoria.

In Western Australia, Rose Marsh recalled "In the late 1980's Mr Wilson contacted me in reply to an article I had written in the West Australian Gardener. We became friends thru correspondence & William & I would visit him at Jarrahdale. It was during one of these visits I brought home some cuttings of 'Golden Vision'. This was later shared with Robert Peace and one of us supplied budwood to John Nieuwesteeg."
