Every time I walk out to view my garden and see this rose, my first thought is, "wow, what is that! "? And then I remember. It is a stunning garden rose.

As with most roses it depends on the weather and factors I don't always under, but I would agree that in general it has a strong fragrance.

I found this rose takes a lot more "baby sitting" in my area where spring can be cool and damp for a long time( then what is advertized by J&P). -- (blackspot problems). If you can get it healthy enough to grow well, the effort is worth it because it makes a" just plain beautiful" container plant for the deck. + the fragrance is great too.

I purchased OUTRAGEOUS from J&P 4 years ago, I love this bush, since that time my garden has grown to over roses, but i still found a spot for a second one. My first bush had survived a grub attack, rabbits, and harsh weather. It took a lickin and keep on tickin! I moved it to another spot(it wasnt to happy about that), so for last season it really didnt bloom that much, this season it looks great, both bushes a very happy healthy and full of buds. The bloom is similar to a peonies, my neighbor thought they were peonies. strong scent. I spray this roses weekly, it does gets black spot, but it never takes the whole bush, it is resistant to powdery mildew. my roses are in a rock gardens so i donot mulch for winter, and the bush comes through the winter with little dieback, this bush is hardy to zone 6. makes a lovely addition to your garden.

Well, I have to eat my words that I have previously posted about the disappointment that Outrageous was to me. I finally shovel pruned that first bush of Outrageous as it just never grew and bloomed worth a darned. I got another bush from Edmund's this year and it has been a complete turnaround from the experience I had with the first one. This new bush is vigorous, healthy, and is blooming it's head off. The blooms are very large and gorgeous color and the fragrance is wonderful. I am so glad that I gave this rose a second chance as it makes a wonderful addition to my bed of orange floribunda's that already has Chihuly, Marmalade Skies, Tuscan Sun, Disneyland Rose, etc... It not only fits right in, it is a standout that visitors to my garden seems to be attracted to. This experience really shows that you cannot judge a rose by just having one of them. Sometimes you just get a "dud" bush that doesn't do well while in reality the rose is a very good one most of the time. John

Oh, gosh, I'm so delighted you tried another bush! Mine seems to get even better every year, still my absolute favorite.
