Introduced in France by Pernet-Ducher, Joseph in 1904 as 'Étoile de France'.
Introduced in Australia by Taylor & Sangster in 1905 as 'Étoile de France'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Dark red, cherry-red center.  Moderate fragrance.  Average diameter 4".  Medium to large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, high-centered to cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Small, long, pointed buds.  
Habit:
Bushy, few or no prickles/thorns, light prickles.  Bronze-green, leathery foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
