Bred by Alister Clark (1864-1949) (Australia, 1927).

Class:

Climber, Hybrid Gigantea, Large-Flowered Climber.

Bloom:

Cream, light pink center, pink flecks, ages to white . Moderate fragrance. Large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, globular bloom form. Once-blooming spring or summer.

Habit:

Climbing.

Growing:

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Vigorous.

Patents:

Parentage:

Glenara clone
White, tinged pink in the opening bud.
Glenara 'Tonner’s Fancy' – the leaves are smaller than “Thelangerin Tennis Court Rose”.
The flower is not nicely arranged and has a slightly messy look.
It is a small buttonhole rose, very pretty and very thorny,

Thelangerin clone
The “Thelangerin Tennis Court Rose” is nearly white, a much neater flower almost of classical form.
The 2002 reference describes it as "creamy, mauve pink-centered".
