Book (1940) Page(s) 14. Avalanche Hybrid Tea. (Lippiatt 1922.) Double, pale creamy white, deeper center. (Name belongs to this older rose.)
Book (1936) Page(s) 118. Mr. H. Bennett, New Zealand. A Rose exhibition was held at Te Kowhai, at which some 600 blooms were shown, the best vase being of that little known but fine variety Avalanche. This Rose grows tall, and is hardy and floriferous. The blooms are large and thick petalled, of a creamy white colour with deeper centre, but it does not ball or mark in wet weather as so many white or pale yellows do. The raiser is Mr. W. E. Lippiatt, of Auckland, and 1918 is the year of introduction.
