I was surprised to see that the Frulingsgold buds have this tinge of red - though when they open, the yellow petals do have the slightest blush. So perhaps not so surprising.

Frulingsgold does fairly well in a shady spot - lots of blooms, but less foliage than some of the others in the same bed. It has an exquisitely delicate fragrance and beautiful color. It has been moved three or four times, and is about 15 years old now. No blooms until the past few years, but it’s finally in a good enough spot.
