R.Marion Hatton.  New Roses in America. 
Another, of nearly the same colour [as Better Times] is Fred Howard's Carrie Jacobs Bond, carrying "Premier" blood.   The plants are upright with heavy canes; the flowers are large and come singly on their stout stems. It is fully double, has typical "pernet" scent, and is a good Rose if one likes that cerise pink colour, I do not.
