Bred by Alister Clark (1864-1949) (Australia, 1917).
Introduced as 'Don José'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1922 as 'Don José'.

Class:

Hybrid Tea.

Bloom:

Salmon-pink. Mild fragrance. Medium, semi-double (9-16 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, cupped bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

Habit:

Bushy, upright.

Growing:

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Patents:

Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).

Parentage:

Archiduc Joseph × Unnamed Seedling

Notes:

Don Jose was a richer pink than 'Sunny South' and its tea parentage showed through in its winter flowering.
