Bred by Ludwig Weigand (Germany, 1927).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1929 as 'Königin Luise'.

Bloom:
White, green highlights.  Mild fragrance.  Large, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, high-centered bloom form.  Sparse, blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Bushy, upright.  Glossy, dark green, leathery foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 9b.  Hardy.  vigorous.

Notes:
Dedicated to Luise Auguste Wilhelmine Amalie Duchess of Mecklenburg (March 10, 1776 Hannover - July 19, 1810 Castle Hohenzieritz), married Crown Prince Friedrich Wilhelm of Prussia on December 24, 1793. With his ascension to the throne in 1797, she received the title Queen (Königin) of Prussia.
