Rose-pink. Moderate fragrance. Average diameter 2". Medium, single (4-8 petals), borne mostly solitary bloom form.
Habit:
Arching, armed with thorns / prickles, upright, well-branched. Medium, matte foliage. 5 to 7 leaflets.
Height: 39" to 6'7" (100 to 200cm). Width: 3' (90cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Vigorous.

Notes:
All of these names are currently ranked as synonyms of Rosa acicularis subsp. sayi (Schwein.) W.H. Lewis, according to the USDA Plants Database. See References for authorities who take the position that this rose is a natural hybrid of Rosa nutkana and Rosa acicularis. [Although earlier references may differ] In his study of 2016, W. H.Lewis has divided R. x engelmannii S. Wats. into three subspecies based on the subspecies of R. nutkana as the pollen parent.
