One could assume that there are perhaps two or more scion banks for this climbing version of Iceberg. The number of petals is distinctly lower with Iceberg, Cl than with the shrub version. Also, the fragrance is somewhat different and diminished from the climber. However, the fragrance of honey is still present. Sets occasional heps. 16-20 petals. Still classy and a free blooming specimen as it’s clone parent. Does suffer from some black spot when water sets on the foliage.

Does anyone have experience or photos about climbing iceberg roses left to grow freely without support, like a big bush?

Have a look at Photo Id: 107727 I don't know whether it was a bush or climbing form.

Helllo Margaret thanks for the photo ! Absolutely gorgeous... Comparing it with the size of the weeping willow beside it seems a bit high for a standard iceberg, don't you think? Thanks again Alessia

Who was the patent eventually issued to? Joseph Timmerman, or Cants of Colchester. Refer 1970 reference.
