Younger own root plant. Like sister Mojave, a lot of color going on. Unlike Mojave, is able to hold on to the color for more than a few minutes.

Younger own root plant. The blooms have more petals and more formal shape than sisters Mojave and Sutter's Gold. And unlike Mojave and Sutter's Gold, this one has the ability to retain both color and shape on warm to hot afternoons. Scent is not as notable as Sutter's Gold---one of the most fragrant roses ever in my opinion and has won awards--but is still quite strong, an interesting mix of that jaw locking sharp nectarine-y fruit and pronounced strong tea. Very interesting that of the 3 sisters, this one was by far the least successful on the market. Wonder why this one was held 10+ years over Sutter's Gold and 6 over Mojave before being released. I would think it would have easily won an AARS just like the other 2 had it been released earlier.
