Same bloom taken at a different angle. I know I've already mentioned this but the blooms are huge! 15cms plus and this is only its first year! Purchased bare root as a 2yr old and it has since given me 1 new strong cane, yay!

Photo taken on an overcast day just after early morning rain. I would say that this shot is the closest to the actual colour of the bloom. You might notice tiny little specks on the bloom, those little buggers are thrips which are my worst enemy!

Another bloom from the same bush! I am really growing to love this one more and more which I bought purely based on its description in a rose catalogue hoping that I would end up with a fragrant and beautifully formed long lasting deep yellow rose and it has definately lived up to its description! It may not be as strongly perfumed or intensely yellow as my Friesia rose, but the blooms I do get are well worth the wait! (bought only bare root this season so I'm sure by the same time next year I'll get a better idea of how it performs!)

I cut this bloom to bring inside so it wouldn't get battered any further in the downpour that we're having in Melbourne at the moment! It is officially summer here but you wouldn't think so if you've seen just how much rain we'r e getting! Anyways onto the bloom! Doesn't it look lovely? covered in raindrops plus they also last just as long in the vase as a cut flower as they do on the bush which is great!
