From Germany I have only Polyantha. Peter Lambert's Martha Lambert is a strong bushy plant with large clusters of one inch flowers of deep blood red with a white centre. I have an idea the plants will eventually become good-sized shrubs.

Martha Lambert (hybrid polyantha 36). Very bushy, upright, dense foliage, small bloom. single, in upright trusses of 15-70 on firm stems, velvety blood-red, small yellowish white crown in the center, golden-yellow short densely packed stamens. Very lasting, remarkable by its ember red colour, does not blue, dark green foliage, wood with few but strong prickle, hardy. Good for groups and hedges. 50-90 cm. Honorary Prize of the Town of mainz 1935; Certificate of Merit Rose Trial Garden of the english Nat. Rose Society 1936. (Franz Leddy X Paul's Scarlet Climber).
