The Roses of 1882 ....
Mary Pochin (hybrid perpetual, Cranston, bred by Pochin). I do not want to make a judgement on this english cultivar. I saw it in London, exhibited by Cranston, I liked it a lot, as it showed the type of A. K. Williams and was coloured brilliant crimson. In Trier the rose had faded meanwhile. The few blooms which I saw at Soupert in Luxemburg were barely medium size, very loose, but regularly filled; moderate growth, does not make the impression of a rose of Rank.
Book  (1882)  Page(s) 27.
