Lady X is not for hot conditions. As beautiful as she is, her petals are like tissue paper and burns in the sun very easily. Must be watched for rust and requires winter protection in Zone 6. Still, I will not be without her ephemeral beauty and a late season bloom flush is amazing.
Nov 2009 I had to shovel prune my Lady X as she is a rust magnet. She is the first to be diseased and spreads it to others down wind. Too bad as the flowers are beautiful.

Lady X is a classy lady and has been in my garden for 40 years, until last year when when we moved and had to leave it behind. The healthy plant is very tall and upright to about 7', very long stems with little or no thorns. Pale lavender classic formed buds open to well-formed blooms with nice centers, and become a grayish-lavender with age. I miss this rose and will be looking for another bush for the garden here in Newberg, Oregon.
