This little rose is full of surprises. I brought it home from Eurodesert in 2011 when that fine establishment was closing. Apparently, it has taken its time adjusting. Behaved as a normal once-blooming species until this year when it surprised me by repeating. Flowered in April as usual. Then a small number of flowers in early summer. Now it is September and it has a couple buds about to open again and is actively growing. The temperature outside today is a mere 102!

Can bloom directly on the canes like R. primula does. The scent of R. borissovae's flowers is an intriguing mixture of linseed oil and citrus. I wonder what is in the genetic make up of this rose?

Sounds like fun! Is the rebloom consistent?
