Breeder's notes:
Mount Sirohi is the mountain peak near the town of Ukhrul in Manipur State in northeast India , on the Burma border, where Sir George Watt discovered the species Rosa gigantea, in 1882, and so did we a hundred years after, in 1990. The mount is at an altitude of about 7000 feet. The mountain itself soars to 15000 feet. Sunrise in that part of the country comes early and is a gorgeous sight. So our first shrub rose in the gigantea strain which had shades of vermillion, orange and brown named itself.
Continuous flowering. the foliage is shining and disease resistant. It is a tall shrub, can be grown as short climber or pillar rose.
