Breeder's notes:
This is a ‘China’ rose, a cross between ‘Old Blush’, R.gigantea and a Tea rose. (We have many Teas in India, but perhaps, even more than elsewhere, very few have authentic names. We too give ‘study names’, usually of the place, the garden or the person from where/whom we collected them). The name ‘New Blush’ just leapt at us, it was such an obvious choice, though I must admit that the leaping process took a while, as we grew the plant for quite some years before deciding to register it. ‘New Blush’ is a compact shrub, very nearly a ground cover, with medium pink very full, old- fashioned flowers produced singly, and with a distinct ‘Tea’ fragrance
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Parentage: [Old Blush X (Unknown Tea X R. gigantea seedling)]
RNRS 'Tne Rose' for Autumn/Winter 2006 page 99 states that this rose is a Hybrid Gigantea.
