Rosa banksiopsis Bak. Section des Cinnamomeae. Chine occidentale, introduit en 1807. Feuilles: 7 ou 9 folioles, oblongues, bords à dents simples. Fleurs: 2,5cm de diamètre. Inflorescences: corymbes presque ombelliformes. Cette espèce s’apparente beaucoup à Rosa macrophylla. Les tiges sont très peu aiguillonnées, parfois inermes à la partie supérieure. En juin-juillet s’épanouissent de petites fleurs roses, aux sépales nettement plus longs qeu les pétales, avec l’extrémité en tissu feuillé. Puis viennent les fruits rouges en forme de bouteille.

Rosa banksiopsis Baker A very common rose in western Hupeh, China, found on mountain slopes at altitudes from 4,000 to 7,000 feet. The flowers are rose red, and rthe fruits are coral red.
