Nola Simpson. Final Analysis 1997-98
Maggie Barry (MACoborn). McGredy 1993; toned coral salmon; 89 reports on 138 plants; 1.6 metres; 7.4 rating. A very vigorous easy to grow rose bearing big flowers in a pleasing colour of toned coral salmon with deeper shading on the petal edges. It is not a rose for exhibiting as the flowers are too loose and lack form, also it has a habit of producing flowers with scalloped petals. it is generally healthy, but rust has been bothersome in some areas and spider mites really fancy it and ravage the bushes in hot dry weather. it can be a little shy of flowering and is at its best in the autumn when the flowers are more pleasing. Reports have varied over the years, some have really like it and others have not been so smitten and have discarded. A tall upright growing bush it has found favour as a good garden rose.

Maggie Barry (MACoborn); McGredy 1993; toned coral salmon; 20 reports on 31 plants; 1-4 years; 1.6 metres; 7.4 rating. Widely grown by all the reports received mostly in the North Island. North Taranaki likes it and it has improved each year, Wairarapa thinks it is great, Waikato has found it prone to rust, vigorous upnght plant, blooms quite large and good shape. North Harbour has found mites the only problem. Manawatu finds it improves on acquaintance, strong, free flowering. Te Awamutu thinks the colour is its only virtue, repeat is slow, flowers loose and blow quickly. From the south North Otago finds the blooms open fast, healthy, and West Otago says it is vigorous and healthy. Marlborough says the bush has deteriorated with ·few flowers and downy mildew and mites bothersome - will replace. Another Manawatu report has discarded on account of the scalloped blooms which do not find favour.
