This is a really cool floribunda. It does blackspot, which is odd since its parents do not here. I removed my MD, which is too bad, since it is so sun and rain resistant, and a really good grower. I have a ton of seedlings from this and Blush Knock Out. We'll see in time if the blackspot carries over :]
Note, 2015: 90% + seedlings mildewed, and more than half were riddled with blackspot. Great vigor. Poor health.

Seed. Only one seedling was retained: Moondance x Blushing Knock Out. It produced a very squat plant, that was disease free on all accounts. Did not even get Knock Out's canker issue. However, I dug it out because it was of no use. Infertile, and too small of blooms. Then, from the roots, it gave a normalized sport that I kept. Not particularly surprised. Both Knock Out and Iceberg are genetically unstable.

Moondance is my favorite and most reliable floribunda.
I’m in Zone 5B, however my Moondance is located in front of the south facing wall of my home that I would call zone 6 micro-climate. My plant is grafted on Dr Huey, with the graft buried 3 or more inches below grade. For winter protection I mound soil and mulch around the base and cover the plant with snow when possible. With this minimal protection, it’s been pretty much cane hardy.
It grows over 5’ tall and 4’ wide. My plant has grown taller and wider than expected and early attempts at pruning to restrain its size resulted in poor re-bloom. When allowed to grow to its natural size and shape, it is in almost continual bloom from May until frost. The growth is vigorous and the plant is very sturdy. The blooms last many days and can tolerate both extreme heat and rain without significant wilting or discoloring. There is a light pleasant fragrance. In our climate, even with regular spraying most of my floribundas suffer from some degree of blackpsot. Mooondance is more blackpost resistant than average in these conditions.

This will be my fourth year with my two Moondances. They are very vigorous growers in my Zone 7, hot, humid climate. Both are heavy bloomers…always have an uncountable number of blooms. Not a strong scent, but definitely fragrant. They completely defoliated their second summer, but never quit blooming and quickly recovered once I bumped up the spraying. Haven’t had that problem since, but I must spray regularly to keep them clean.

After struggling with this rose since June 2011, I've decided to get rid of it next year. Even with regular spraying it has completely defoliated from blackspot. None of my other roses have given me this much trouble. Right now it's a four foot tall, two-cane shrub with no leaves...not a very pretty landscape plant.
