Schloss Luegg: Descendant of de la Grifferaie, similarly vigorous and same foliage. Blooms very floriferously in beautiful clusters. Medium size bloom, very beautiful flat cup form, faultless filling, colouring bright carmine-pink. Excellent hardy climber! Magnificent, when grown on a sunny wall and in nourishing soil.

Another somewhat distinct and extremely hardy group is known as the Hungarian Roses. They are mostly hybrids of R. multiflora with R. rugosa annd other hardy roses, and are credited to Geschwind of Karpona, Hungary. Representative varities are Château Luegg, Décoration de Geschwind, Gilda, Roi des Aunes, and Schneelicht.

SCHLOSS LUGG. Geschwindt, 1886. One of the Multifloras antedating Crimson Rambler which may not be a Multiflora at all as we know it. Reported to have full, medium-sized, fragrant, carmine flowers.
