Discovered by Joseph Smith (2004). Discovered by Brenda Landers-Smith (United States, 2004).

Class:

Miniature.

Bloom:

Pink, yellow center. None to mild fragrance. Average diameter 2". Small to medium, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, exhibition bloom form. Prolific, blooms in flushes throughout the season.

Habit:

Medium, compact. Medium, glossy, dark green foliage.

Height: up to 20" (up to 50cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Can be used for beds and borders, cut flower, exhibition, garden or landscape. Vigorous. drought resistant. prefers full sun. Disease susceptibility: disease resistant, very blackspot resistant.. Remove spent blooms to encourage re-bloom. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.

Breeder's notes:

Sport of miniature rose Aristocrat. Found in 2004 by Joseph Smith and Brenda Pollock-Smith. This sweet beauty was named after their daughter, Chelsea Brittlyn Landers for her 16th birthday.

The name 'Peppermint Patty' was the commercial name used when the rose was distributed by Greenheart Farms for a short period of time. Greenheart Farms no longer distributes 'Peppermint Patty' , therefore the name is void and the rose is exclusively named 'Chelsea Brittlyn', available directly from Joe and Brenda Smith. Contact them through the California Coastal Rose Society for purchase inquiries.

Notes:

'Chelsea Brittlyn' is a clear light to medium pink miniature with a pale yellow center. Blooms hold their long lasting form. Centers are found for rose exhibitors and is an ideal miniature for rose arrangements.

Won PSWD Fair Friends of Roses District Arrangement Award in April 2008 for a miniature traditional design.
