Bred by H.F. (Bert) Harp (Canada, before 1961).
Introduced in Canada by Agriculture Canada, Morden, Manitoba in 1967 as 'Métis'.

Class:

Hybrid Nitida.

Bloom:

Pink, lilac shading. Mild fragrance. 28 to 35 petals. Average diameter 2". Medium, very double bloom form. Once-blooming spring or summer.

Habit:

Armed with thorns / prickles. Small, glossy, dark green, attractive fall color foliage.

Height: 39" to 4'11" (100 to 150cm). Width: 3' (90cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 3b and warmer. Produces decorative hips.

Attractive burgundy red foliage in the fall, from its Rosa nitida, parent.
Lloyd Brace at The Roseraie at Bayfields says this rose has ovoid buds which open to soft pink double blooms... Like all Hybrid Nitidas (shining in Latin), it has small glossy leaves that turn a vivid red in the fall...
