Bred by Samuel Darragh (1932-2019) McGredy IV (1976).
Introduced in New Zealand by McGredy Roses International (New Zealand) as 'New Year'.
Introduced in United States by Certified Nurseries as 'New Year'.
Introduced in United Kingdom by John Mattock, The Rose Nurseries in 1984 as 'Arcadian'.
Class:
Floribunda, Grandiflora, Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Orange, golden-yellow blending.  Spanish orange. Bronze Orange. Slight pink to edges.  Mild, sweet fragrance.  20 to 25 petals.  Average diameter 2.25".  Small to medium, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, flat bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Bushy, compact, upright.  Large, glossy, dark green foliage.  

Height: 30" to 4¼' (75 to 130cm).  Width: 2' (60cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Can be used for beds and borders, container rose, cut flower or garden.  Benefits from winter protection in colder climates.  Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.
