Origin:
Bred by Charles-Denis Souchet (France, circa 1847).
Introduced in Australia by Handasyde, McMillan & Co. in 1864 as 'Césarine Souchet'.
Class:
Bourbon.  
Bloom:
Light pink, pink edges.  Strong fragrance.  Average diameter 3.75".  Large, double (17-25 petals) bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Compact.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).

Notes:
This rose is not yet listed in Souchet's 1846 catalogue, although there is an Azalea listed called 'Cézarine Souchet fils'; perhaps this accounts for Jäger's 1843 date [see References].
