ROSE BERKELEY
(Hybrid Tea)
Introduced 1928
Deep rosy-salmon, suffused with orange
A Rose of considerable refinement and charm. The blooms are a good shape with high pointed centre, which makes it ideal for the exhibition as well as the garden lover. Fragrant. The growth is free and branching, and the foliage a dark olive-green: thorns rather fierce. If required for exhibition purposes, it should be pruned to two eyes the last week in March, but if for garden, only moderate pruning to four eyes is required. It is a variety that is seen at its best in the autumn. Awarded a Gold Medal of the National Rose Society.
