Origin:
Bred by Gilbert Nabonnand (1828-1903) (France, 1882).
Introduced in Australia by C. F. Newman and Sons - Adelaide in 1894 as 'Papa Gontier'.

Bloom:
Carmine-pink, yellow undertones, carmine-red reverse.  Crimson buds.  Moderate fragrance.  Average diameter 5".  Large, semi-double to double, borne mostly solitary, cupped-to-flat bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Upright.  Dark green foliage.  

Height: 47" to 14¾' (120 to 450cm).  Width: 35" to 19'8" (90 to 600cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
