'Paul's Scarlet Climber' hybrid wichurana. (descends from 'Paul's Carmine Pillar' x 'Rêve d'Or'). Breeder: Paul, 1916. Height: 4 to 5 m. Non-recurrent. Semi double, tolerates half shade, hardy, tolerates poor soil.
..The blooms, medium-size, semi-double, in wavy rosettes, are of a very vivid scarlet-red. They form large dense clusters under which the foliage completely disappears. The leaves are large, dark and matte. In bad consitions, the plants are sometimes subject to mildew. The flowering is late and long.
