p56.  G. W. Cole, Parramatta, NSW
Madame Edouard Estaunie (a good Rose, mainly in the spring, colour hard to classify, as sometimes it is almost white and others is deep cream to yellow, but for form and size it is well up to show standard)

p79.  Dr. A. S. Thomas.  Victoria.  The Best of Recent Introductions.
Percy Izzard..., pale and dull. An outstanding specimen bloom, but hardly a "dec."
Madame Edouard Estaunie (E. Buatois, 1936), one plant four years old and four plants three years old: Similar criticism to that of Percy Izzard, plus the fact that it is quite useless in spring and very liable to damage from weather. May be better in a hotter climate.

Mr. C. W. Heers.  1941 Review of Roses in Queensland.
Mad. Edouard Estaunie, although of only medium size, is a good grower and produces its blooms quite freely, being at their best in the early stage.

p99.  S. R. Bird.  Notes From Auckland.
Mad. Edouard Estaunie has enough substance for any exhibitor, but balled badly in wet weather. The colour is taking far too long to make up its mind what it is really supposed to be. It grows well here.

p132.  Mr John Poulsen, NZ.  Canterbury Roses.
Madame Edouard Estaunie.- Good growth and free flowering. Beautifully shaped flowers with high pointed centre; up to the best exhibition standard and retaining their shape for several days. The colour so far has only been a pale flesh pink with a slight yellow shading. A fine show Rose, but will be regarded as being too pale for most people. Blemishes rather easily.

New Roses 1938. Madame Edouard Estaunie (HT.  E. Buatois 1936) F. 3.  Long buds, opening to double, shapely blooms of variable colour, which is usually pale flesh with a faint yellow centre which disappears when the blooms open.  Occasionally the colours are much richer.  This is a good exhibition or garden variety where decided colours are not necessary.  E.

p14.  Harry H. Hazlewood.  The New Roses of 1938.
Madame Edouard Estaunie HT. (Buatois, 1936) has enormous blooms of perfect shape. The colour is usually pale flesh with a yellow centre (some blooms are quite yellow), which disappears when fully open. The petals number 30 to 35, but no red shading could be detected as described by the raiser. This is a really good Rose.

p113.  Allen Brundrett.  New Roses in Victoria.
Mad. Edouard Estaunie, H.T. (Buatois).-This variety, at first, had very little colour, but later in the season it improved greatly, being a pale golden yellow. The blooms carry from 30 to 45 petals, and are of the highest possible order for exhibition purposes, having a high pointed centre and outer petals which reflex well,  The growth is hardy and vigorous.
