I agree that it wants to root. I had a plant of it on the ground in a pot, and in the middle of winter lifted the pot and found roots for inches along that cane where it had been in contact with the moist grass. I have kept mine in pots so far but did plant one in the ground recently. I put it in a dry spot where I hope it won't take over. Visitors to my garden seem drawn to this plant and like it even when it is not in bloom.

This is a very healthy variety that I obtained as a cutting last spring (2010). It had a very nice spring flush with no repeat. Perhaps it will give the occasional repeat when it is more mature. Did very well over the winter (sone 5b) with no winter damage. No trace of blackspot, mildew, or rust. Some leaf spot but very little. Good branching. Vigorous. It has a lot of tiny thorns that can stick to you like velcro but nothing that should draw blood. Tiny leaves are medium green somewhere between matte and semi-glossy (eggshell?). Currently it is growng out rather than up making it a good ground cover rose. I highly recommend this one.

Be careful where you plant it as it will layer, sucker and through basals all over the place. It is only spring flowering, unless it might "repeat" in places where the spring-like weather holds on for a long period. Notice how it has filled the end of this planter at my sister's house. You can't get a shovel into the clump! http://www.helpmefind.com/rose/l.php?l=21.172599 NO disease, ever, but spider mites love the tiny, dense growth, so flushing it out with a strong stream of water from the hose periodically helps, if they're a problem where you are. Unfortunately, it's never set hips and its pollen has never worked on anything for me. But, I keep trying.
