Bred by Mathias Tantau, Jr. (1912 - 2006) (Germany, 1982).
Introduced in United Kingdom by Wheatcroft Brothers Ltd. in 1984 as 'Polar Star'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
White or white blend.  None to mild fragrance.  35 petals.  Large, full (26-40 petals), high-centered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Tall, well-branched.  Matte, dark green foliage.  

Height: 3' to 42" (90 to 105cm).  Width: 27" to 42" (70 to 105cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 4b and warmer.  Vigorous.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .  Can be grown in the ground or in a container (container requires winter protection).
