Book (1907) Page(s) 36. Charlemagne. Crousse, 1880. Large, compact, creamy white; center slightly lilac, fading to white. The flower is cup-shaped, liable to be filled with water when it rains, which rots the bloom. Should be covered with muslin while blooming. A splendid, solid flower when perfect, but without extra care it is seldom satisfactory. It is also late and liable to sun scald.
