Bloom:
Mauve. Average diameter 2". Medium, single (4-8 petals) bloom form. Once-blooming spring or summer.
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles, bushy. Small, matte, light green foliage. 3 to 5 leaflets.
Height: 4' to 7' (120 to 215cm). Width: 4' to 5' (120 to 150cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Vigorous.

Notes:
Subgenus Hesperhodos. First collected in 1897. Subgenus Hesperhodos has two species: Rosa stellata and Rosa minutifolia. Rosa stellata in turn has three subspecies: stellata, mirifica and abyssa.
The name Rosa stellata var. myrifica (Greene) Cockerell (1914) is a misspelling of the name proposed by Greene, which was Rosa mirifica. Brown hips
