Bred by William Paul (1822-1905) (United Kingdom, 1875).
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1876 as 'Star of Waltham'.

Hybrid Perpetual.

Bloom:

Deep pink to crimson. Strong fragrance. Very large, double (17-25 petals), cupped, globular bloom form. Occasional repeat later in the season.

Habit:

Armed with thorns / prickles, upright.

Height: 4' to 5' (120 to 150cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 4a through 5b.
