'Pierette' rose Reviews & Comments

What a tough Lady! She has been growing in our collection in the shade of a huge Wisteria specimen with whom she also fights for root space. 4'x3' Yankee Lady has persevered however and provides non-stop spicy fragrance all summer into autumn. Her giant mid-summer blooms are blowsy, tousled, and last only a day in the high heat but she is worth her short-lived enjoyment!

My Pierette Pavement is amazing: It's has been extremely disease resistant, hardy to the tips of the branches in the coldest of winters, and puts on a tremendous show of fragrant flowers in the spring. It repeats but the Japanese Beetles have started attacking the flowers of the second bloom cycle. I will try to prune it so it will flower after the Japanese Beetles are gone. My plant has to be 9 to 10 feet tall and almost as wide but I have never cut it back

I have a lovely Yankee Lady growing in my backyard. The plant is very hardy, disease free, and has a permeating scent of cloves and spices. It is about 3 1/2 ft tall and wide. I have had it growing in this area for a little over a year, and roughly transplanted it to its current position in haste. This was no problem for it. It is truly an outstanding rose.
