Origin:
Bred by Brad Jalbert (Canada, before 2009). Introduced in Canada by Select Roses in 2009 as 'Paula Smart'. Introduced in United States by Edmunds' Roses in 2012 as 'Smart & Sassy'. Introduced in New Zealand by Amoré Roses in 2016 as 'Smart & Sassy'.
Bloom:
Dark red, golden-yellow reverse. Brilliant red with gold reverse. The amount of gold on reverse can change with weather. Moderate fragrance. 32 petals. Average diameter 2.5". Medium-large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, classic hybrid tea, exhibition bloom form. Moderate, blooms in flushes throughout the season. Medium, pointed, ovoid buds.
Habit:
Tall, upright, well-branched. Large, glossy, dark green, dense foliage.
Height: 2' to 30" (60 to 75cm). Width: 1' to 14" (30 to 35cm).
Growing:
Can be used for beds and borders, container rose, cut flower, exhibition or garden. Heat tolerant. prefers full sun. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.

Foliage is highly polished very dark green like its pollen parent Lasting Love.
