Notes:
The rose in commerce is generally listed as a Portland and attributed to Robert & Moreau; however, it does not re-bloom and shows typical Gallica characteristics. Neither the Gallica nor the Portland was in Sangerhausen or L'Haÿ collections early in the 20th century. The current rose was probably identified as 'Pergolèse' and re-introduced in the 1940s.
There is no mention of a Portland 'Pergolèse' before 1899. It is quite possible that this source was subsequently repeated by other authors, with the Gallica being transformed into a Portland by Robert & Moreau.
